Rods and Classics get in on Highlands Action

Highlands Motorsport Park will be the venue for old and new when the Speed Works Motorsport championship revs up over the weekend of January 18th and 19th.

As well as the on-track action around the spectacular circuit, there will also be an opportunity for owners of iconic cars attending the Cromwell Classic Car and Hot Rod Festival to get in on the action and show off their prized possessions. Owners who register on Friday will receive a complimentary ticket for them and their car for Sunday’s action at Highlands Motorsport Park.

As well as parking up together so they can enjoy the other rods and classics attending, they’ll also enjoy great viewing of the day’s action, which includes the first round of the international Castrol Toyota Racing Series and the iconic Central Muscle Cars.

Better still, they’ll also be given the opportunity to take part in some parade laps over the Sunday lunch break so race fans can enjoy seeing their cars.

The weekend features a packed bill of racing action. Reigning champion and Kiwi young gun Liam Lawson will begin his title defence in the TRS series, challenged by some of the best up and coming single seater racers in the world. The Central Muscle Cars always put on a fabulous show and there will also be Porsches, The Best Bars Toyota 86 Championship, OSCA, Mazdas and a capacity field of South Island F1600 cars for fans to enjoy.
